Teamsters Local 396 Members at Republic Services Anaheim MRF Unanimously Ratify New Contract with Historic Gains in Wages and Benefits



Anaheim, CA – Teamsters Local 396 is pleased to announce the unanimous ratification of a new contract for workers at the Republic Services Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Anaheim. The contract, which was unanimously approved by the membership, includes an average of a 50 to 77% wage increase over the contract's life, improved benefits, and working conditions, reflecting the commitment and hard work of Teamsters Local 396 members and their bargaining team.


“Today’s ratification is a major victory for our members at the Anaheim MRF who work tirelessly to keep our communities clean and environmentally sustainable,” said Victor Mineros, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 396. “Our members’ unity and commitment to achieving a fair contract have resulted in meaningful gains, and this agreement is a testament to their resilience and dedication.”


President Alex Moran echoed Mineros’ sentiments, commending the membership for their resolve throughout the negotiation process. “This contract reflects the strength of our members standing together and the importance of collective bargaining in securing strong protections for working families,” said Moran. “Our bargaining committee did an incredible job representing their coworkers, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved here.”


Committee members Vita Rodriguez and Ignacio Hernandez also expressed their satisfaction with the outcome and gratitude for the support of Teamsters Local 396 leadership and fellow members.


“We fought hard for this contract, and I am proud of what we accomplished together,” said Vita Rodriguez, a long-time employee at the Anaheim MRF. “We know our worth and we stood together to ensure fair treatment and respect on the job.”


Ignacio Hernandez added, “The gains we secured in this contract are important for our families and our future. I’m grateful to my coworkers for standing strong and to Teamsters Local 396 for supporting us every step of the way.”


The contract ratification marks yet another success for Teamsters Local 396 in advocating for the rights and well-being of workers across the sanitation industry.
