UPS Contract Update: Tentative Agreement Reached On Regional Supplements

Updated: Jul 23, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Here are the most recent updates regarding our UPS contract negotiations.

As you are probably aware, we reached a tentative agreement on our UPS/Teamsters National Master Agreement in June. Our Supplemental Negotiating Committee has reached a tentative agreement, in late July, on the UPS/Teamsters Western Region Supplement, the Southwest Package and Sort Riders and the Local 396 Addendum. The gains we made in our supplemental negotiations will benefit our membership and address the major issues that were expressed by our members when we started the bargaining process.

On August 9th, President Jay Phillips, Recording Secretary David Castro and I will meet with other UPS Teamster Local Unions from across the country for the “Two Person” meeting to review the UPS/Teamsters National Master Agreement. Upon approval of the UPS/Teamsters National Master Agreement by the UPS Local Union leadership, the agreement will be mailed to the membership, so each member can read and review. We will then have our contract ratification vote.

I appreciate your patience, input, and support during this process. Local 396 will schedule meetings and yard visits with all our UPS members before any ratification vote to explain the contract improvements and to answer all your contract questions.

Ron Herrera, Secretary-Treasurer

Teamsters Local 396
